About

The Silent Preacher

Bio: “A Day without Conviction is a Day without the Lord” Born and raised in a small town in New England. Shortly after high school I decided to move to North Carolina. It wasn’t long after arriving and finding no real employment options, I decided to join the Marine Corps. I spent 11 years in the Marine Corps, learning and working as a CH-46 helicopter mechanic and crew chief. After a hard landing accident I began to suffer from lower back disc damage. Two surgeries later and some titanium rods and screws holding my lower back together, I was forced out of the Marine Corps with an honorable discharge. The last four years in the Corps I worked in a school house teaching young marines. This allowed me to find employment after my discharge. For the next 10 years I worked as a technical writer, production manager, and instructional designer. A few years after leaving the Marine Corps I went through some difficult times, not knowing where my life was going or what I was going to do. I grew up working with my hands, mostly mechanical and construction work. With the new changes to my physical disabilities, I was in search for a new meaning for my life. Then, in my darkest hour, when life seemed oblique, the Lord called me to salvation. Everything in my life began to make sense and I learned a new direction that the Lord had in store for me. I began taking some local community college courses in order to enroll at Liberty University. It has now been six years and I graduated with two bachelor degrees, Education and Psychology. I felt the Lord calling me into the counseling field so I immediately enrolled into Liberty’s graduate program in professional counseling. Looking back over the years, I can see how the Lord has used each circumstance in my life to mold me into the man He has called me to be. I enjoy writing and sharing what the Lord has laid on my heart. I have been serving as an adult Sunday school teacher for many years. This blog is an extension of what I learn through my weekly studies of Scripture. My posts are in love and prayer, hoping that you will receive blessings from the Lord. The page picture of the Bible and two wedding rings was set up by my loving and beautiful wife. She set the picture up for our 10 year vow renewal ceremony. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read my postings. In Christ, The Silent Preacher
